Yes that was what we had on Saturday.
The broth above looks a bit blackish as it was mixed with sambal kicap (soy sauce with grounded cili padi (small extremely hot chillis), garlic and a little bit of sugar to taste).
Her recipe for the broth was given by Kakak who in turn was handed down by one of my brother's ex-maids who hails from Medan, Ngaini. No Bakso recipe in my wifey's blog as yet, but she has finally added another recipe after two weeks' hiatus!
bakso? Yummmm.....
ReplyDeletecan u give the recipe for the meatball n soup pls??
ReplyDeleteSherrina - Yes...yummmmm
ReplyDeleteB2api - I have conveyed your request and should be made available soon in my wife's blog!
I see lots of vegetables besides meatballs. We have a similar dish in Turkey, but insted of veggies, there is yoghurt and rice. I mean it's like yoghurt soup with meatballs. Your's looks like also Vietnameese Pho. Did you realize that?
ReplyDeleteOya - wow yoghurt soup with meatballs. I love anything with yoghurt! BTW this is not a local fare - it's from Indonesia. There are a lot of bakso stalls which have mushroomed here because of a lot of migrant workers from Indonesia here in Malaysia!
